CO2 Mortar

To start don't do this near breakable stuff like ummmmm... Cars!! seeing one of these come close to a car is scary enough -- I haven't put one through a windshield and I'm not looking forward to it. That said... on to the construction.


Materials needed




1) a box of 12 gram co2 cartrages (like what you put into a pellet gun.)

2) tape (packaging is what i have use but Duct tape should work just as well. Dont use masking or another paper based tape it isnt as durable)

3) A length of 3/4 inch pvc pipe about 2-3 feet long is best.

4) a thumb tack (The upside down T shape)


Construction:




1) Take your pipe and put a peice of masking tape on it at the end.

2) Put the tack in the very center of the pipe through the tape and dont press hard it kinda goes through the tape.

3) Take another piece of tape and put it on top of the tack andthen another.

4) Take the cartrige and drop it down the barrel foil side down.

It should go into the air at a reasonable speed.

I havent tried this but it should work - Take a pill bottle like prescriptions come in and attach a rubber band thats been cut with one end on each side. glue a tack on the rubber band so that when you pull it back and let it go it hits a co2 cartrige and sets it off. this would be great for a shoulder-mounted rocket style launcher so u can place a cartrige in the barrell instead of dropping it.
