Muds and Text-Based Adventures are about to go crazy

Muds strangely seem to be gaining in popularity. Microsoft just spent $69 (🤙) billion to aquire Activision's Infocom IPs.

Will we see a Police Quest soft reboot, taking it back to its roots? A Kings Quest mud in ULTRA HD ascii with modern antialiasing? The possibilities are endless.

I don't think people have the patience anymore for a true M.U.D. But then again, with A.I becoming such a thing, I could see a sort of rebirth of them. Imagine being able to play ZORK or L.O.R.D with a bunch of people where things constantly change and the "dungeon master" can interact with you. Seems like a cool idea.

I’ve been trying mudlet.org recently, i didn’t know people were going to join in that fast. Considering i’ve read numerous people on reddit who were playing it for disability reasons like blind or…other reasons. I’ve only been playing zombieMUD and Lusternia. They have a MUD client on IOS appstore called Nexus Mud Client that i use for Lusternia.
