Wow, you're quite the original thinker.

But wrap your mind around this one, Socrates: what if God created us so that we could create him?

Do you have any information you can point to as to back this theory up?

Not really because we dont know exactly how smart every other creature is. All we know is that we needed something to explain the unexplainable. So the idea of God was created...to our current knowledge we are the only species with enough brain power to create such a concept.

Deities are not unique to humans...we actually play the role of deities to many domestic animals, and sometimes even wild animals.

I know I'm going to get some shit for this statement, but intelligence almost always leads towards agnostic and atheistic mindsets, even among theists (essentially, much more lax and much less devoted belief). This is due in large to the ability of the mind to realize that justification for one's actions is not a true necessity. The mind is more capable of understanding the mechanisms of life, and no longer needs a supernatural entity to guide their choices. The conscience is no longer a result of inflicted morals, but of morals derived from analyzing the status of those around us, and from ourselves.

I'm not saying the religious or spiritual are stupid, just that deductive reasoning is the primary drive of their thought processes, much like deductive reasoning is the primary drive of the thought process for dolphins and apes. Inductive reasoning allows one to create internal devices from an external source of essentially nothing; deductive reasoning has most of its potential cut away instantly by the beginning source material, leaving internal mechanisms such as the conscience in a state of infulfillment, which is often accompanied by a belief in a deity or some supernatural entity in order to complete the half-finished conscience.

Of course, this doesn't disprove god...hell, I might be fucked for eternity over this, but I doubt it. http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif) Have a nice day everyone.

there is infact some biblical thought for that idea, at least in the sense of us 'feeding him' through sacrifice.
