I've never been a really religeous person before. I think Jesus was a cool guy with some pretty good ideas about the world, but never went to church or anything. I went a few times when I was younger, but didn't really pay any attention or learned anything. My parents don't go to church either, not even sure if they believe in God or not.

Then I met a woman. She is rather odd, and her view on christianity is much different than I've heard before. Her ideals about it reflect mine quite a bit. She's really into it quite a bit. She said I didn't have to go if I didn't want to, but I decided to give it a shot. She has some family that are in the church, and know some things beyond the mainstream. Her family seams to really think that I'm something special, and are very interested in me and my views on things. They seem to be really convinced that I am chosen for some reason, and that I have a majour calling with the church, aswell as with their daughter.

Her mom came up and told her," He's very special, make sure you treat him right". Apparently, her mom usually hates the men she's dated in the past, and it was awful weird.

Overall, this new experience that I'm having with religion is perplexing, and I'm finding myself questioning my beliefs, and am seriously contemplating joining her religion, even becoming a pastor myself. My life is really changing now. Things seem to be going really well for me, and I feel as though I have a purpose now, when I fealt purposeless before. I'll post again after this weekend to tell you guys how it went.

Please tell me you don't think you're chosen. Her parents like you so I hope you don't choose a career based soley on that.

Christians will generally claim God has a plan for everyone. The fact that they are telling you that you are special and God has a special plan for you makes you no different from any other person (or any other person who enters that church, at the very least). I'm just going to advise that you exercize a lot of skepticism and ask a lot of tough questions. If what they believe is true, they will have good answers for tough questions.

On another note, hearing about your religious background made my day. You weren't raised as Christian/Muslim/atheist/etc! You were given the opportunity to choose what you believe in once you were old enough to make such decisions.

If I ever have kids, I should raise them as Democrats...
