What if the real god is some obscure figurehead, and everyone who has ever died is tortured for all eternity? and everyone who dies for the rest of time will go to "hell", and there is no way to learn of this god, and everyone is doomed?
When thinking about this, I just got overwhelmed and could not sleep for fear of not waking up.
Is this sound thinking?

The real answer to your question is not "What if" but "Why would it be?"
Why is anything the way it is? What if everything is an illusion or a lie and religion is a product of your dream reality but not ours?
WHAT IF!!??

In response the the thread: Think about it by all means. But there's no point in worrying about it, there seems to be nothing you can do, just try and stay happy now... May as well, you're gonna get fucked for eternity.... In a bad way.
What if my dick is bigger than anyone else's here on the forum? What if...nah it's totally small.
1) Make a concrete belief that you actually put "Faith in"
2) Provide *some semblance* of evidence for it, that way maybe people will discuss it
