Has anyone seen this? I saw the first part on Sunday, and it was absolutely spectacular. The part with the snow leopard was incredible I\'m definitely watching the next 10 parts. Its being broadcast in HD too, so if you have that, its probably doubly amazing.

yes was shown here(uk) last year on BBC. Absolutely incredible, favourite part is when they capture the shark jumping out of the war and grabbing a seal in midair, and all this is filmed at 1000frames per second so they can mega slow it down

justout of interesr in america who narrates it?

When I saw that leopard propelling itself down the jagged, treacherous craig at lightning speed after that animal I seriously almost shit my pants.

Amazing, http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

I also liked the vampire squid in the ocean segment. Creepy little bugger.

Too bad humanity is trashing this magnificent earth, eh?

Watching this show is the only time I've wished I had a high definition tv.

It was pretty impressive to see the dromedary camels on last night's episode. That noise they make sounds just like Chewbaka.

Well well, pardon me for making room in my memory banks for someone's real name over what I saw once in a movie.

I saw an episode in science class today...definitely pretty interesting. It was the one where the wolf chased down the antelope or whatever it was. Crazy

christ yes, i have a HD tv and HD satellite from Dish Network, almost every show on the discovery channel in HD is amazing and planet earth is up there as some of the best HD programming i've seen so far. ( i've had the setup for about 4 months )

i love the discovery channel, usually

I only saw the one part with the snow leopard. Pretty insane shit. The did a 10 minute behind the scenes thing right after. Turns out this was the first ever documented snow leopard hunt, and it was dumb luck that they caught it. Same with that little tropical bird's mating dace.

My favorite special was the fictitious one about how they found some alien planet with life and they sent these two identical robots to explore it. Dish HD kicks ass.

Grasslands was a good one. Favorite segments:

Geese
Those little African birds that travel in billions
Lions hunting elephant

I missed shallow seas, though. Was it as good?

It was good. Seals hunting penguins. Ultra slow motion (50:1) of a great white shark grabbing a seal. Krill swarms massing I think it was 2 million tons. May have been 200 million. I got shot with a squirt gun (don't ask) and was distracted.

That bird that kept jumping up, hovering, and dropping back into the grass was my favorite part of grasslands.

I'm *flutter* here! *flutterflutter*

Truth. Discovery channel used to be more like PBS. Planet-earth, Big Science, and How Its Made are what discovery channel should be.

Doesn't make me appreciate Mythbusters any less though.
