I stumbled across a job-posting on Craigslist for "Jobs that Matter," which was just a link to the application page on their website: jobsthatmatter.org
According to the posting (here's an older one: http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/gov/365661129.html), I understand that they're a non-profit campaign group that builds support for whichever environmental groups hire them.
I believe this to be a legitimate, steady-paying job, and I know people who have worked for other interest groups, namely politicians, who got paid to drum up support for a particular issue. But something still bugs me about the whole thing, maybe it's the speedy response my email got. I have not yet called the office as it was recommended, but I will later this afternoon.
Has anyone here heard of this group, seen it campaigning, or met somebody who has? As much as I like the prospect of the job, I want to make sure that I am going to get paid as they say.
