Anyone else seen it already? I watched it three days ago and was really impressed by it. Such a beautiful yet sad film. The animation was superb and the little details in it were great.

The story was also good, though it made me angry because of the brother's pride/stupidity.

I saw it about a month ago, was a really good movie in my opinion.

A great change of pace from the common magic/fantasy-based anime out there, a slice of life that just plain went wrong.

From the lady who didn't give them any of the actual food in the soup (just broth), to the last fruit drop.

A really touching film.

Rofl, if you're going to troll, don't use the same message 3+ times.

Me more original, build up our attention by making us believe you have good insight for the thread, then bust our chops with something spicy while ridiculing us for the sort of entertainment we choose to enjoy.

My former roommate tried to get me to watch it. It's not that I didn't think I'd like it, I just didn't want to be depressed as shit after... so I never did see it.

Find a chick and watch it with her, odds are she'll be depressed as hell and you two can soothe each other. ;)

That and getting depressed after the movie isn't a bad depression, more of a 'why?!' with teary eyes and shit.

World War II? Either way, just gives you the life of a kid and his sister, who's father is in the army and who's mother

*slight spoiler (early movie)*

Dies. So the two are basically surviving on their own, going through shit together with the boy in charge as the sister is just a toddler who likes fruit drops.

I suppose that's brief enough.

Yea, i didn't like it at all.

Even though I usually I don't like sad movies, but this one was just past that point of suckage.

Btw i just finished watching gunslinger girl. Probably the only dowtune anime i liked. It's funny how the ending seemed happy yet sad at the same time.

If you want sad animu, watch Hadashi no Gen (http://youtube.com/watch?v=g4SzjwHStp4) and it's sequel. It's based on the author's own experiences surviving WW2.

i'm reminded as why war should never happen again-and conversely why the US needs radical change..

It was just boreing to me. All my friends suggested it to me saying stuff like "omg it's the saddest anime I've ever seen." When i finally go to watching it i didn't think it was that sad, i mean yeah it sucks she died but it just didn't hit me. And the fact that he does really stupid shit in the movie just plain annoys me. I mean common who doesn't know how to successfully steal food from a farm? It's cool that a lot of people liked it, just for me it didn't strike me right.
