In order to save the planet I feel it's very important that we all unplug our mobile phone chargers when not in use. Although I personally usually forget to unplug mine, I gives me a warm feeling telling other people what to do.
Thanks - and together - you can stop the climate from changing.

Gives me a warm feeling telling people to at least a 1st grade education before entering the real world and considering more difficult tasks such as cellular phone ownership and/or operation.
Powering the primary section of a SMPS phone charger draws minimal current. Probably works out at just over a watt.
There's much more you can do. Like unplugging that VCR which is sucking down 5 watts whilst sat in standby.

Maybe we should all turn down the brightness on our computer displays. That's got to be 2-3 watts right there.
Edit: I threw away my optical mouse and got a ball one today, because the laser is wasting electricity. Also I'm going to set my hard drive to spin down every 10 seconds, to save electricity. I might throw away my hard drive and use solid state memory instead.

You know what? I don't. But the fact that you give a shit about it means I'm going to start leaving it plugged in 24/7.
My electricity, I'm paying for it, I can waste it if I want to, and it's none of your fucking business.

I feel that the amount of energy saved from unplugging my phone charger is minuscule compared to most other things.
(I actually charge my phone via USB on my computer, but thats besides the point)
Things such as getting rid of your freezer, using your computer less, or killing yourself, would conserve much more energy.
Think of the energy that was used by your computer when you spent time to make this thread, along with the computer use from everyone who read this thread, the server that hosts it, and me to write this reply. You wasted more energy than you saved.
