All I ever see here is Death Note, FLCL, Naruto and other main-stream business; where are the true anime fans?!

You people are missing some quality entertainment.

Sure a chink of those are good, but seriously give the genre a bit more of a look into aside from just stuff you'd see in Shonen Jump or Adult Swim.

you're right, there is this kind of mainstream in here to where we keep hearing the same names over and over again. it's not anybody's fault rly, maybe it's just that the majority of what most of us see is usually the latest shonen jump or adult swim.

i'll often go to site, pick an anime at random, watch a few episodes, and if i like it i'll just keep downloading episodes till i'm done with the series. i've already seen all of the stuff they play on adult swim at the moment anyway.

...except deathnote. i can never find the time to download so i watch it when it comes on tv. thanks to spoilers running around the forum, i already know what happens to L though. :(

I generally don't like what they show on adult swim. What they tend to show on there is a load of crap. I sometimes take a trip to a random streaming site and pick a name that sounds interesting. It really is a good way to go, watched a lot of decent anime that I normally would have missed if I didn't do that.

I've stopped searching for new anime recently. I've been rewatching series that I loved to try to reclaim some of those good memories and pull myself out of the slump I've been in. :(

The only newer one I've watched is Lucky Star. I thought it was hilarious. Like an anime Seinfeld. :)

yeah i've watched some clannad. i've never heard of Shigofumi though; i might check that out.
i'd assume most of the animes i've watched aren't mainstream but i wouldn't know what the current mainstream is. :P

I'm still an anime noob. I'm allowed to watch just the main-stream stuff because I haven't seen it all yet. :o

I'd say the least main stream thing I've watched is Ichigo Mashimaro, but it's still mainstream I think. :/

Sine America is still afraid of Anime Adult swim (or toonami back in the day) is the fist place most people get introduced to it. Also just because their mainstream doesn't make them bad.

But yeah non mainstream anime is great... like Twelve Kingdoms... Go watch it.....NOW!!!!
