I used a mixture of the above chemicals to create a fairly loud noise accompanied by a respectable flash, however, now i want to add a flower effect to the mix.
Would adding magnesium powder to the mix do this or do i need to get something else?
If the Mg wont do this, then what will it do?

RP and chlorates are so dangerously retarded that I think you MUST be a troll.
Either way... lock please?

I'm not a troll, Im trying not to blow my hands off here.
I get the RP and K chlorate from cap gun caps, cause its easy. I accidentally ignited about 50 caps worth by accident last night (grinding it too hard) and all it did was flash and hiss. I was blinded for a bit but not damaged.
Just to prove im not a troll:
If you see something really, really wrong or dangerous, DO NOT GET UPSET. Rather calmly explain why you feel that i am doing something wrong.

If its used in cap guns its much too sensitive to use in any other fashion. Its fucking armstrong's mix. Did you research it at all? The guy who invented it suffered much grief because of it.
Move to safer things.
I also said in the other thread that chlorate/p was bad.
KClO3/P... BAD

Getting cap gun composition out of vaps is dangerous, a lot of work and so much more expensive than just making something.
Combining chlorates with sulpher or phosphorous is a very bad idea! The guy who made armstrongs mix got into a pretty serious accident this way.

There are things you do and don't do in pyro, and there is a very clear line between the two.
You crossed the line.
