View Full Version : The Place Promised in Our Early Days
Awesome. I didn't get much of the science they were using to relate to the whole plot but it was a good story nonetheless. I'm a sucker for anything that can relate to the human condition and doesn't have 70 feet robots fighting as the centre piece. The english dubbing was very watchable. I liked the fact that it didn't go too much into the whole political aspect of the story, or the science. The story stuck to what it was aboot. Not much filler.
Now if only I could find an AVI version of it.

I think there is actually a double meaning to the movie. The tower which they promised to go to throughout the during of the anime can be seen as a phallic symbol. I think the actual underlying theme is the race to satisfy ones lust for the girl, between the two main boys and take her to this "phallic" tower, meaning who gets to have sex with her first out of the the two who have feelings for her will be the one who takes her there. :rolleyes:
Does anyone else think similar? Or is it just me relating everything to sex again :eek:
