View Full Version : Looking like a drug addict who hasn't slept in days
How would I go about doing this? I know fuck all about make up and that's the only way I can think of to make it look like I have bags under my eyes and all the other stuff associated with sleep deprivation and drug addiction. Would it be possible to tell I've used make up if I try it? If not, what is the best product for this and what exactly should I do? Are there any other options other than actually doing it and make up? :)

Skinnyfit tee shirt which doesn't come down far enough. Skin tight shredded jeans and facial hair. Speak with a heavy Scottish accent also.

Take plenty of MDMA and alcohol, after 4 or 5 or so hours you will look like a piece of shit. Guarenteed. What ever you do don't look in the mirror at yourself.

There is no 'Scottish accent' .. maybe you mean an outer-glaswegian accent but ...
Accents like vary within a 5 mile radius here :D

Don't forget to not bathe, and make sure your face and hair are properly greased. Crisco is a good way to achieve desired effect if pressed for time ;)

start by drinking lots of coffee and just chain smoking for at least a night, also drink alcohol like rum and tequila constantly, basically don't eat only feed yourself alcohol nicotine and coffee or other stimulants,
as far as your dress, don't do makeup that's for people on tv this is real life, go with broken in jeans, plain white or gray t relatively tight fitting with a v neck collar, don't shave, don't touch your hair, just go with it.
it's a hard look to 'make' which is why I recomend just adopting the lifestyle and the look will come naturally...
Do drugs and don't sleep for days.

Do drugs and don't sleep for days.
This would be the obvious way of doing things, but we're assuming you don't want to go down the method acting route, and are looking for a look which is swifter to acquire, and has fewer drawbacks.
To draw together what has already been said, what you neglect to do is more important than what you make a conscious effort to do or wear. For example, the longer you neglect all aspects of personal hygiene, the better, particularly not shaving, not washing or grooming your hair, and not washing your hands or under fingernails.
Unfortunately by far the best way to look sleep deprived is to be sleep deprived, it only need be one night of wakefulness before you need to affect the character to work wonders when combined with the above. Beware of using make up, though it can create a very convincing look on stage or on camera when applied by a skilled person, in closer range and in real life the means by which you acquired your ostensibly dishevelled state will be plain for all to see.
In terms of Clothing, it is the state and fit of your clothes that is important rather than the age or price. Remember that down and out types can come from all walks of life, and that a very good look can be achieved with more expensive clothes that have obviously been neglected and not cared for. Wearing something that is old and ill fitting can help to add the suggestion that you are wearing donated, stolen or the very cheapest of second hand apparel.
edit: ooh don't forget the power of scent, try to smell as bad as you can, a mixture of bodily fluids combined with ancient tobacco smoke on your self and your clothing should do the trick. your breath should be obnoxious too, don't clean your teeth for some days, if you smoke, do so heavily, and if you don't, take a fet puffs of cheap cigar smoke into your mouth only. if you don't wish to be drunk, even a little alcohol on the breath is very obvious and can helpcreate the right impression. it doesn't really matterwhat you drink, as long as it is little and often to prevent any serious build up of alcohol in the bloodstream.

I think the American Apparel web site has the look down pretty well.
Thanks for the replies everyone, especially fredfish. Just to clear some things up, actually adopting the lifestyle and/or doing drugs aren't really an option, I just want the look for a few days, I reckon it'd be very interesting to see how real I can make it look. Applying make up would be the most practical way to do this if it could look real, does anyone have any advice and/or tips in doing that? Thanks!

NO! It isn't, you thick skulled dunce.
People have given you great advice in this thread, especially fredfish when he said to focus on personal hygeine and grabbing one night of sleeplessness. And none of them said makeup is not the way to go. You aren't qualified to put it on in such a way, and that's a ridiculous proposition anyways,
If you make a thread to ask a question, and people give you answers, don't just revert to YOUR original answer after a dozen people took the time to answer you...
Make up would be the least time consuming and would take the least amount of effort to put on compared to anything else mentioned in this thread, so if it's possible to use it without anyone noticing it's make up, I'd definitely rather doing that, that's why I was asking for advice on it. But there's a lot of good advice in this thread, and I'll most likely end up doing some of the things mentioned in this thread if make up fails.

Dress like a fuckin spide and take like a caffiene pill whenecer you feel tired. Most ive stayed up is 3 days. BTW sleep deprivation can fuck your mind pretty bad.

Lol. I just wanna see how bad I can get myself to look, then perhaps take pics. It's not something I'd wanna do everyday, just once.
i would suggest buying a bottle of jack daniels and a gram of heroin/cocaine.
