Vests, well-fitted jeans (not baggy and falling off your ass), artsy graphic tees, chunky knits, and scarves are all items that are in style right now.

But the best thing to do is always to fill your closet with staple items that can be worn every year and are classic rather than trendy. Things such as well-cut jeans, well-tailored jackets, and nice knit sweaters might not be as 'omg so trendy' but they will take you through almost any occasion, be worn more often than overtly fad-ish pieces, and can be a core part of your wardrobe all year.

I mainly wear either a solid long sleeve thermal shirt, relatively form fitting because it keeps you way warmer, and I am way more fit this year than last year... so it's nice in that respect. And on top of that if I need another layer a casual button down shirt usually solid colors like brown, or green. I also wear timberland shoes which are black and very sturdy and comfortable, and regular jeans or well worn in khakis.

I don't know if this is necessarily trendy but fall dress for me usually prioritizes comfort, warmth, and adaptability if I am to be outside in the relative cold for a while having a conversation, drinking coffee, or cramped up in the library for hours studying, so you gotta be able to shed some layers if the situation calls for it.

Pea coat

The great thing about Pea coats is they don't go out of style. Also, if you get a good quality one, they last for ever. You'll have it until you're in your 50's!

Pea coats don't look good on all youngsters, though.

Horizontally-striped t-shirts, sweaters, and hoodies. I see so many stripes these days, for both girls and guys. Pea coats are always cool.

Thermals, wool/cotton vests, cardigans, oxford shirts, sport coats, hooded tees, a variety of hats/beanies, and scarves.

Casual tees under any of these make the dresser comfortable and pleased.

Your part a is full of fail.
Well tailored, shirts, sweaters, jeans, pants, and jackets will always look good, invest in a good pair of brown or black loafers.

Remember fit is everything, shoulder seams should lie on your shoulder at the edge not hanging off, chest should not bag or hang if you lean forward. Sleeves should reach the round bump bone at the end of your wrist.

Pants wise, get them hemmed for perfection, legs really depend on your build, if you're skinny go for straight cut jeans, a bit heavier go for bootcut.

Do not wear hoodies as they are never classy.

with Jackets, you can get many nice ones, that lie just below the waist, or a more longer one peacoat's or a nice fitting burberry style trench one can work too.

I never said those clothes looked good. That's just what's considered to be in style at the moment.

I like comfortable clothing that fits well, and for what I do I have to look somewhat professional.

Fall's range is mostly smart/casual.

Suits with informal shirts.

Trousers with boots such as \dr martens.
Long flourishing coats and quite feminine scarves.

tartan prints and metallic colours as well.

Especially in detail should as shoes or bracelets etc...

What sort of people do you hang out with? How do they dress? or are you trying to avoid dressing like your friends?

V neck Jumpers with white t-shirt underneath and just some jeans; pea coats are good at the moment with a decent scarf as well.

Or as said earlier, hoodies and jeans.

Pea coats are awesome. I own one and it looks good with lots of different things I wear.

Looks good with casual and formal dress.
