Before Yagi Noihiro created Claymore, he did a manga called Angel Densetsu. Essentially, its about a boy who has an extremely 'evil' looking face (small pupils, white skin, slicked-back hair, and the general apperance of a heroin addict), and it automatically assumed to be some kind of demon-thug by everyone he meets, despite the fact that he is extremely kind. Most people end up running off screaming after taking a look at him. He is transferred to a new school, and within the first day, through a series of accidents and misunderstandings, becomes the 'guardian' of the school, ie leader of a group of half-wit delinquints. It's basically following his misadventures and relationship with those around him.

Despite the subject matter being somewhat serious, it manages to keep the entire series very lighthearted apart from a few serious chapters. Also, everything is pretty exaggerated and unrealistic, so as long as you're willing to make quite large leaps of faith, you'll find it pretty fucking funny. It's almost like slapstick humor. While it may not make you literally roll on the floor laughing, you'll definately get a chuckle out of every chapter.

It's also very interesting to watch the art progress. It's very... questionable... at the start of the series, though the backgrounds are consistently rendered with lots of detail, but it slowly progresses. The height of the art probably occurs at chapter 50 or so, out of 84. Normally, I'm extremely shallow when it comes to manga, but I was able to overlook it due to the quality of everything else. Every single character shines, and is funny in their own odd way.

If you havent read it, give it a try, but make sure you have a skim through to see what you think on the art first.
