If you're trying to drop a hint, tell him to get his ass on here so I can make fun of him before demonstrating how easy it is to pick up a hundred or so such sites.

Well, then, it's too bad he didn't, at any point in time, create an account solely to get around any sort of ban involving discussing the advantages of Meta's wheelchair-bound state as relates to the height required for sucking someone's dick, or anything. Too bad his girlfriend won't let him on...

lol... LT is modless.

Anyways...

Step 1 : search something interesting.

Step 2 : go through page after page of results. Everything that doesn't have a google cache (i.e. most of your results) will just happen to be a paid article compendium.

That should pull about a hundred in a short amount of time. Alternately, one could just go through my old posts and grab everything that spits abstract while demanding you pay for access. ;)

(how the hell do you lose your &totse password after several years of typing it in daily?!?!)

Hey now, don't go insulting the mods. You just have to understand that after a few years....or really a few weeks or months, the whole excitement and "glamor" of being a moderator fades away. I come through and apply moderation where it is needed mainly just because its my "job" to do so with the title of moderator under my name. The joy of being able to do so was lost after I closed basically the same exact thread 1000 times.

I know everyone thinks they'd be the best mod in the world, providing the best advice, being there to close trolls as soon as they're posted, and to fight Dr. Octopus as soon as he showed up. This might be true for a short time, but your fervor would fade. You'd be the zealot turned common.

I do mod for a few reasons, though. The first, and main reason is harm reduction. If I am knowledgeable on a topic, I will be sure to either correct misconceptions that could cause harm, or even lock a thread if it is beyond repair.

I also like having the moderator title up under my name. It proves useful when on other sections in the community. It provides instant "respect" in most cases...and by respect I mean that people don't take you for a retard. I don't mean bow down and worship respect...because I can guarantee you that there is none of that....unless you're Stupid Noob :D (I had to take that one, no hard feelings? :))

So don't get me wrong, I like modding. Just realize that the iron fist becomes tarnished and oxidized at some point.

I like how you phrased that. I used to mod W&C until I disappeared from totse for a year or more and I resigned do to inactivity, and as squeegee says it's not all it's cracked up to be. There really isn't anything special about it, you are the forum's janitor.

I wasn't.

However, if...

- you're often absent, only checking in once in a while.

- UK_Tom hasn't been seen since modship.

- BongTech openly posted his abdication due to absence, and...

- SN lost his password...

...who's left? I didn't say "LT has shit mods," I said "LT lost all its mods." Apparently, it has, though your making your semiannual appearance when the last remaining mod went away sort of helps with this.

Nah. The glory's all in having sigtext when no one else does.

That lasts a lifetime. ;) Everything else sucks from the beginning (except posting in locked threads).

Just because I don't post doesn't mean I'm not there, silly. I just usually don't have a lot to elaborate on whats going on. Things have changed much since I first started here, and a lot of it is past my very limited scope of knowledge.

Firefox can remember passwords. :)

He has his password saved on his computer, but he is out a-visitin' for a wee bit so he isn't using his computer, and his memory has failed him, like the old man that he is and yes I do love run-on sentences.
