So I got given these cotton t-shirts, I like them but they're too big (I'm small, they're medium). So what's a good way to make them smaller? Stitching/shrinkage/whaaat?

Wash them in hot water and then dry in hot. But it'll shrink a lot.

The only problem with the hot water/drying thing is that when I wear it for more than a few mins it stretches out just as large as it was before I washed it.

Wash is in hot water, dry it and whilst it's still a bit damp (not completly dry) iron it with hot steam.

What kind of materials does that work / not work for?
