A vintage Omega Deville Seamaster.

It didn't come with a band, so I'm thinking of finding a leather band like it originally came with. I'm just not sure what color/where to get it. I wish it was silver, then I would just get a silver band. Gold bands are tackey though. :(

This sounds like a stupid question, but should I wear it as an every day watch, or just save it as a dress watch? I want to wear it as a casual watch, but I'm not sure if it would look like I have something to prove.

Should have gotten a moonwatch or a deville.

I got it from my grandfather, so I didn't really have a choice. I just need ideas on what sort of band to use with it.

Oldschool, cool. I don't think you should wear it everday, sounds obvious but it will increase the chances of you breaking/scratching/loosing it, scratching the glass is a pain in the ass and happends more often than not, you can never tell how that little nick got onto the glass. Just wear it when you're going out or socialising, it will make you look classy. I think you should stick with the 'simulated (http://i2.iofferphoto.com/img/item/496/402/76/o_IMG_2715.jpg) snakeskin' band look. It's a nice colour of Brown and would be magic if you could get a pair of pointy shoes to match. Other than that, I would personally use a plain Black band, I think that would look good with the gold.

I don't know how much you're willing to spend but these 'genuine alligator' straps are quite cool: Straps (http://www.watchworx.co.uk/pages/lwb/elitePop/Genuine%20Alligator.htm) the first one if practically the same colour as the one in your picture.

Apart from that site there are: Watch hut (http://www.thewatchhut.co.uk), Watch retail (http://www.watchretail.co.uk/), Strap factory (http://www.strapfactory.com/)

Thank you for your input Diesel. I think I'll go with the brown alligator skin straps. As much as I like alligators, I feel that this would fit my watch well. 65 Euro is a little steep, but I feel that I'll be paying for quality.

OP congrats on the watch, look after it and it should last you for a very long time. i think id of gone for the same strap that you chose aswell. im not the biggest fan of metal straps for mine, ive got one with the black rubber and one with black leather and stiching to match the coour of the watch. but omega ftw

Save it for special occasions, and keep it as a memento of your grandfather.
