Not sure if this is in the right forum...

I have obtained some 50% concentrated sulfuric acid, what can I use it for? I also have in my possession: potassiumhydroxide pellets... any advice on what to do with these two chemicals would be appreciated. Even if you tell me to use them to kill myself in a slow and painful way. :(

do NOT mix them. First of all, all you will be left with AFTERWARD if you did is a solution whose only use is making plants grow. Secondly, and more importantly, the reaction would spatter hot acid and hydroxide everywhere. Even with a face shield and full scrubs on, you would probably get severe chemical burns.

We have a saying here in BB: "find a chemical for a use, not a use for a chemical." Meaning, figure out what you want to do, then get what you need to do it. Don't peruse under the sink and ask what you can make with commerical cleaner X, fertalizer Y, and paint thinner Z.

You're best off getting rid of them (which is a difficult thing to do, because they are both pretty reactive), or at least storing them (separately) in a safe place.

Or give me the potassium hydroxide so I can use it in my aqueous electrolytic potassium ferrate project.

I mixed them...it got hot, but didnt burn through the tissue. failed once again. :(

It instantly dissolved the Potassium Hydroxide though....Gangster:D

potassium hydroxide=base
sulphuric acid=acid
if you mix the two it wont have a ph high or low enough to burn you

Not if he didn't mix them stoichiometrically.
