Why is Darude's "Sandstorm" such a legendary track? I'm not talking about whether or not I think it is legendary.

I'm just wondering what gave it that status. Legendary is the best word I could think of to describe it, based on what it seems other people think of Sandstorm.

It's infamous, revered, and seemingly all that is holy.

Im afraid to say, I just don't get it. Sure, it's a beautiful peice of electronic music, but beyond that I'd be pissing in a bucket.

It's got alot of energy, and for my generation (who were 14/15 when it came out) it was the song to some up the club scene. I waited 2 long years until I was 16 so I could go to Ibiza, and it was still the most played song; and here we are 5 years later, and it's still the same..

It's catchy, and it's also fun to spam over the mic in counter-strike.
