I'm planning on having a little get together for Christmas and I would like to make a nice cheese platter and choose a wine to go with it. I don't know much about what would make a good combination though. We have a grocery store and a couple "all natural" stores with a decent selection of different cheeses, but not much more than that. I was thinking of maybe making a plate of different goat cheeses, but I'm not sure. Any ideas in general would be great.

Also, I've seen apples and pears with cheese before, and some kind of bread or crackers. I'm thinking that's just something I'm going to have to try out, but if there's any suggestions for that that would be great too.

Red and Camembert usually makes a good mix, regardless of the wine (as long as it isn't shite like Fontana di Papa or Thunderbird lol).

Picking specific wines to go with specific cheeses is often a hit-or-miss very specific process. You might have better luck pairing beer with cheese, a process which mates better tastes and probably allows for greater flexibility. Just a suggestion. :)

Camembert with port wine compliments itself nicely. I don't know what's up with all this shit about pairing cheese with beer, however.

Get some pepperoni, summer sausage, and ham/turkey as well.

Fuck if I know about wine and cheese. Just get a nice variety?
