Soup all, I don't watch much cartoon/animé stuff, but like loads of mofos everywhere i've seen Spirited Away. I know Ghibli have made tons of other films, so i'm just looking for some recommendations really. My Japanese mate actually did work experience for them, but she just says they're all good, n to buy them all... ha (probably true).
Suggest away! Cheers.

Princess Mononoke is probably the best imo, followed by Howl's Moving Castle.
But, yar, they're all good. Collect them all.
the one you don't see

The only one's I've seen are (in order of preference):
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Ponyo On The Cliff By The Sea
I wouldn't especially recommend Ponyo, but it was interesting to watch.

I don't think a best can be chosen, it all just depends on preference. Spirited Away, Naussica of the Vally of the Wind and Princess Mononoke are my favorites though. My friend is more drawn to My Neighbor Totoro and Porco Rosso(which are also very awesome).

I watched it under the impression it was, but according to Wikipedia, it wasn't. ¬_¬
Disregard what I said before. But if you like Ghibli, you'll like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time...

I dunno if you guys know this but the three guys behind most of studio ghibli's projects went off on there own and started making movies. The two I know of are Paprika and Tekkon Kinkreet. They both have the classic studio ghibli feeling of epicness but with different art styles and animation. Also, they're geared towards the adult crowd, without a doubt. Theres no way a kid could understand wtf is going on in either one of those movies.

This is part of the opening sequence for Paprika: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMcVwXSvmBg&feature=related
Preview for Tekkon Kinkreet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9LnbgA1K28
theres a bunch more trailers, search youtube. both movies are fucking ridiculous mind fucks. I think Paprika is better but Tekkon Kinkreet is my favorite.

Indeed. It does sort of put off a Studio Ghibli tone..

I own Tekkon Kinkreet, it's a fucking epic movie that should have it's own series. Rented Paprika and also thought it was good, but not quite on the level of Tekkon Kinkreet. It was more trippy and confusing though. I didn't know they were made by 3 former members of Ghibli though, but it makes sense now that I think of it.
I recommend both of these amazing films to any Studio Ghibli fans.

Tekkonkinkreet is amazing, definately one of my favourite Anime movies, though I haven't seen a lot. I tried to watch Paprika, like you suggested, but I didn't especially like it, got bored and stopped watching it halfway through...

Paprika is one of the greatest movies ever made in my opinion.
My fav ghiblis are naussica of the valley of the wind, princess mononoke, spirited away and grave of the fireflies.
