How much money does a mortician start at and what could said mortician expect to make after working for 5-10 years. do you know anything about the current demand for morticians, and how horrible is the work? unless I'm mistaken and you didn't work in a funeral home. this is a serious question I've wanted to ask for a while

As I'm sure you all know by now totse is closing.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. My journey started on this forum so it means a lot to me. No hard feelings over anything I have said or done and I thank you once again for not laughing at me too hard.

Now I thank Jeff Hunter because we all think he did nothing but that is not true. He has worked on Totse for 20 years now, that is a very long time and very impressive so thank you Jeff. It is up to us all now to move on and hopfully continue some of Jeff's ideals, ideals I think should never die.

I am going to go read the bye threads in this board now, the rest of totse can get fucked NS & H was my favourite part.

How are you going to fill in your spare time when Jeff shuts the server down for the last time?

I, myself, have no idea. When I first came here I was an addict for playing Halo: Combat Evolved online. Then slowly I got more and more fond of posting on totse and fraternizing with the community base.

Slowly my interests started to dwindle as fast as totse was changing my IRL personality.

Totse taught me to be more of an objective thinker and view things in different lights. As a result I'm a more cynical person, at the same time I'm more assertive/forward IRL. Totse has taught me to think on my feet, not to hesitate giving someone the finger who cut me off in traffic (or blast their horn at me).

With totseans being a huge influence molding my personality, totse has become a proxy to the world for me. You guys were here when I needed advice, you were here when I needed to vent, and the majority of you were a shoulder to lean on. Totse shutting down feels to me as its severing a huge part of that away from me.

Believe it or not you were with me IRL. Totse for me was also a mental rolodex of advice, comebacks, conversation, and even lines to use during sexual intercourse.

I'm not sure what to do now. After work I would always have a shower, make myself dinner, then jump on totse to see what was new and I would spend hours here. As pathetic as it sounds, this closure is going to be a huge void in my day-to-day life.

As I said before, I'm not sure what it is going to be filled with. Thanks to totse I'm sick of games and watching TV in my free time. I guess I can go out a little more, get a few of my mates to join a gym and we can go together for something to do, and maybe even go clubbing a bit more. But there still will be nothing for me to do to relax, unwind, when I'm by myself with nothing to do.

I've offered Jeff to host this site on one of my servers in my home office, but I'm not holding my breath of hearing back from him.

I had this window open almost all night. I am posting this in Half Baked because

1. There's no one here and I hate crowds, even virtual ones

and

2. I always liked this forum the best

Anyway, I never posted that much and maybe a few of you know me and my Mustang II and my unhealthy obsession with FedEx Ground. I was and never will be a "true" HB regular due to my inconsistent posting style and my long absences in between. I had a hard time getting you guys, but when I finally did, I enjoyed reading almost every post.
If my calculations are correct, there's about an hour and 10 minutes from the point this was typed (not necessarily posted) assuming the site goes down at midnight in the server time zone. I will not miss this site much, but I will miss the information it brought me (I didn't only post or browse in HB) I will not miss the fact that I had to read about 90% of everything posted on totse as a whole (except a couple forums including SG) and that would take up an hour and a half when I got up, and around 3 hours or more into the wee hours of the morning.
I tried to quit a few times but I always came crawling back. I have few friends IRL, and I treated this place as most people would treat a club or a bar. I always put my best face on and treated this place as an escape.

Now I'm 21, I need to get off my ass and get a real job, and start taking more responsibilities on. I can't live with my parents forever and while this place is great and helped shape who I am, its holding me back from using what II learned here to do bigger and better things.

I know this is TL/DR but no ones reading it anyway so I will wrap it up with a farewell to you all and I bid you all good luck. Some of you will see me around in other corners of the net, and possibly even walk past me on the street. But all in all, we must never forget what we learned here.

Well, I'm off, with 45 minutes to go. That should be enough of a head start before the nuke drops.

I have no fucking idea what I am going to do with all my spare internet time. It will be lonely. Totse was a very unique site and I am going to miss it very much.

Zoklet is the "new totse". If we all go to different sites we will disappear quicker.

I am glad I spent the last of totse's time stoned.
