SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
Dumbass postman put a nice package in SWIM's box today.
It was addressed to the guy that lives down the street. Well, SWIM got 2 booklets of season tickets for the Patriots. Seem like pretty good seats too. SWIM looked one ticket up on some ticket site, price goes from 145-300 dollars. Well SWIM got 2 booklets full of like 25 tickets each. SWIM sees that a lot of money can be made using these tickets. However SWIM is weary about selling them for fear of the ticket makers finding him and all that nasty shit. SWIMs plan is to have a friend sell them for him, but where would SWIM's friend go to sell them. SWIM thinks his friend could go to a library and sell them online. However SWIM is afraid that someone will see the seat number, then find that the ticket was pronounced stolen/missing by the origional recipient of said tickets and someone will set up a sting and arrest SWIM and/or his friend when they try to sell the tickets. How would SWIM's friend go about selling the tickets. Is scalping against the law? Either that or craigslist. |
Re: SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
Scalping tickets isn't illegal, and I think you're being kind of paranoid about the whole recognizing the seat numbers thing. I think you should wait a while and then sell them on ebay. Just take lots of precautions to avoid the tickets being traced to your house. It's probably a good idea to have your friend sell them for you, but then again you could always scalp them with virtually 0 risk.

Re: SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
The law actually says whatever arrives in the mail belongs to you even if it was a mistake. You can ask any lawyer this and the reasoning behind it is simple.
For example.... If Best Buy shipped you a 2000 dollar plasma tv by mistake, it is not your responsibility to burden the cost of bring it to the actual own who lives three states away. |

Re: SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
In Dallas we have guys who walk along the highway close to the stadium buying and selling tickets to the people in traffic. You could either retail them yourself or sell them to someone who buys tickets.

Re: SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
Sell them to someone that buys tickets? That's fucking genius lol :p
There should be nothing wrong with your prize but Craigslist might be the best route unless you REALLY trust your friend and don't mind giving him a cut. |
Re: SWIM got a nice surprise in the mail
apparently scalping is illegal if you resell over the ticket value. And these are $125 tickets.
And they also sell like friggin fried twinkies. Hopefully today SWIM can make the trade. lol Scalp me bitch. |
