Figure I'd drop this here, no real need for a separate thread:

Epic is currently the most consistent with free games (for now, they're trying to build people's libraries so they like Epic more than Steam) but they aren't the only ones.

Some dude on reddit mods a sub r/100percentdiscounts (https://www.reddit.com/r/100PercentDiscounts/) and uploads links to the weekly Epic games as well as games that temporarily go for free on Steam, Indiegala, and other places. I picked up some PS4 game on a PSN account even though I currently don't have a ps4, because free shit is free and LEGAL for once, so why not horde?

Currently, you can grab Total War: Shogun 2 on Steam, not sure how long this will last. Some of the other links on 100%D might work still, you'd have to check.

Was gonna link it but the EGS website is being shitty. They normally show their next week's free game but didn't...well, this week they're offering GTA V for free. Next week is also a surprise, possibly another big game? We'll see!

Store is up and holy shit! So many games discounted 60%+, and every one gives a $10 off coupon. Chain buying games so you're getting games discounted to like $15 down all the way to $5...kinda wanna pick up some DLC but I'd rather just get some base games for now and get DLC for stuff I really like later on. Pretty good deal.

I was never able to get into the Civ games. I honestly don't even remotely see how they were considered fun.

I've never really played them, just know they're big name games and would be worth updating the thread for. Next Thursday's game is also hidden rn so still more special games for their weekly I guess.

True, tho free games are still free games. I've gotten like 80 free games on Epic just checking in every week. Sometimes they give multiple. I got the entire Batman Arkham & Lego Batman trilogies for the Batman anniversary for instance. Been thinking about posting a weekly reminder & what the game(s) are if ppl are interested, or maybe dropping links to games that go free on Steam/Humble Bundle or some shit. Help people build their libraries with free shit.

Kinda jelly about the lego ones. I've heard Arkham was.... buggy.

I pirated it and got thru it no problem, but I've also just experienced very few bugs outside of shit like Skyrim, and I heavily mod it anyway so that probably causes shit.

Neither did I. I think as soon as people realized the Devs put anti piracy shit in the game itself the crackers found a work around. Who woulda thought the people that break DRM could trick a game into thinking it's a legit copy? Lmao

I've always heard it's not to stop piracy, it's just to slow it down so the launch day profits aren't effected.

My philosophy with these free games has been "well, they're free." Even if I don't really have any intention of playing them now maybe I will in a few months, or a year or some shit, just to see what they're like, lol.

There are some things so shovelware I won't waste the bandwidth.
