The insidious nature of social media

Post by Das Troll » Wed Oct 21, 2020 12:17 am

I recently reactivated my Facebook account after 3 years of not using it. I got to see all the stupid old shit I used to care about including my ex who had a kid. My main fear is trying to message her again so I decided to permanently erase the account. And I hesitated... Not because of her, but because of Facebook. It was like a drug that I thought maybe just one more hit wouldn't hurt. I haven't even been on there in 3 years but the thought of permanent erasure gave me pause. After a few seconds of hesitation I pulled the trigger.

Fuck Facebook.

Fuck what Facebook has become. It used to just be an easy way to share pictures and blurbs with your friends and family. Like, I have family that that's the only way they see my kids other than the once a year one of us can make it to the other one.
