alert Passat B3/4 Blend Door Repair

  • Remove center console
  • Remove Radio
  • Remove HVAC controls
  • Remove knee bolsters
  • Disconnect dashboard, but do not remove
  • Remove airbox cover
  • Apple new blend door cover (I used duct tape)
  • Reassemble in reverse order
All in all there's about 10 screws, 10 8mm bolts, and two 10mm nuts. It took me longer than it should have because I was originally going to remove the airbox completely, but this isn't necessary, as you can reach everything needed by just being able to open it up.

If you're flexible enough, you might be able to just free the dash and open the airbox without removing the HVAC controls and radio, but I personally was thankful for the open space.
