C64 mini/maxi controller

Post by Das Troll » Tue Mar 09, 2021 1:20 pm

While authentic, the joystick that the console comes with is pretty shitty compared to a regular D pad. Sadly you can't just plug in a xbox controller and go to town like you can with a computer. An easy fix for this is to buy these controllers.

Seems that NT doesn't like amazon links. Just search for this in amazon.

2 Pack New SNES Controller, SAFFUN Retro USB Super Classic Controller for PC Mac Linux Raspberry Pi 3 Sega Genesis Higan (Multicolored Keys)

10 dollars for 2 controllers and its plugNplay.

Also, the media embed plugin apparently breaks Amazon affiliate links. https://www.amazon.com/MAYFLASH-Genesis ... B089LSHW4T

EDIT: I looked into it and apparently they just don't work. Supposedly it's on Amazon's end.

I disabled them in the plugin, so they'll just work now, and I guess it's just another reason to migrate to vBulletin.

Can you do me a favor and just let me know what the first one shows up as under device manager? I'm curious.

Just the generic USB input device under human interface devices.

I'd say there's a fairly good chance it would work, and would allow you to use original C64 sticks. Odds are it's just looking for "HID compliant input device", which is why the xbox controller didn't work. They show up as xbox controllers.
