Weird ThinkCentre problem

So I put a 2TiB hard drive in my Lenovo ThinkCentre computer, and for some reason even though I can MANUALLY boot from the drive, it won't automatically do so. I think it's the size vs motherboard in this case, as it tells me frequently that it's 0MB. Oh well, if I go into the boot menu, select it, and select Ubuntu from GRUB it boots just fine.

So to make things more strange, this only happens if I do a complete power off. If I just reboot it works fine.

Id say grub or linux or both are modifying your boot order for it to work with your current bios. id say make the Linux partition like 1.75 and the rest jsut back up space or maybe cache partition. kinda how my shit was tell i opted to get away from legacy ,, some how i still have a 2tb erased partition on my 1tb , remembrances of when i was using the 1tb and a 2 250 gig drives for a fuze type setup,, some how if i re raid my shit i can restore the data ,, atleast recuva says lOL xD cuz my shit still in there deep deep deep in the sectors

It's not modifying the boot order, as both drives have a working version of linux on them. I think the drive just takes forever to initialize

Shouldn't.. tbh,, even usb 1.0 pen drive boots up a 4gig iso pretty damn fast,, and initializes it instantly . but ide optical drive def beats it on load times and boot times

This is a 2tb media center hard drive though. It's designed to last forever, not do things fast.
