What is your favorite programming language?

What language are you currently coding in? What is your favorite and Why?
I've been using more JavaScript lately, and I'm teaching it to a friend who wants to learn to code.

However, my favorite language is Java. I know, its verbose, and every other language out there has been trying to kill it for decades. But it is still around, and even though Python has overtaken it as the #2 most used language on github, Java is still in the top 3. With all of the legacy code out there written in Java. It will be around for quite some time, and there is a lot of work in Java.

But, I will probably write in most languages without much complaint. I had a lot of fun doing code katas with some friends in OpenOffice basic a couple of years ago.

I got pretty into Flash when it was popular if you can really count that. I can remember starting off with pre-made code that I'd modify to suit my needs while learning what everything did. I was always the one trying to push it to the limit. While other people were doing simple loading bars I was doing 100 individual states for each percentage, doing 11 stage parallax backgrounds, et cetera. I was always a better animator than a coder, and around the time I quit I was doing sprite animations at 2160p resolution and downscaling it so the motion blur and what-not was nearly impossible to notice.

What killed it was when I had some data-loss followed by getting banned from Newgrounds and losing a shit load of work.
