New York is trying to ban body armor

I literally can't fathom why they're banning body armor. It's not a gun, it's entirely defensive. They're literally trying to remove your ability to protect yourself in a defensive way. What the ever loving fuck is New York up too?

I have no idea how this is going to work. Does a kevlar/steel plate count as armor?
