I haven’t said any of that. I only ever called anyone racist because of all the hard rs y’all are dropping, and your inability to explain why you are mad, and if you think that’s the only point I’ve made ITT then you haven’t read my actual posts. I don’t know where you are getting this idea that all I’ve done is cry about racism, it’s fucking ridiculous. Learn to read.

Everyone else here understands what the problem is, then there's you spouting off "RACISTS!" when in reality Disney is showing extreme racism by not creating a new original black character.
The only thing this thread proves is that you're too busy trying to be PC to recognize the flaw behind it.
Helladamnleet wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 3:28 pmPretty much what Das Troll said. It's annoying for black people and white people alike. Disney doesn't care enough about black people to just write some original characters, and doesn't care enough about white people to leave white characters white.
Write an original character. It's cool if they're a mermaid, it's cool if they're a princess, it's fine if the story is similar, but it's insulting to everyone involved in the franchise, whether it's a fan that saw it as a kid in theaters, the writers and animators involved in the original, or black families. Bottom line is Disney couldn't be fucked to actually make a black character. Instead they took the easy way out and made an already beloved Disney princess black in hopes that it will please the sheeple.
Das Troll wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 1:19 pmDon't be stupid please. I annoyed because it's Hollywood trying to pander to the woke crowd. LOOK HOW PROGRESSIVE WE ARE! ARIEL IS NOW BLACK. People then clap like seals as the IP hemorrhages money and then the MSM comes out and tells us how racist we all are because we see through the facade.Jaimie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 12:50 pmThe original movie had tropical fish and a Jamaican crab. It doesn’t matter if the original story was from Denmark any more than it matters that the original Cinderella was Chinese.
Can someone explain why y’all are so mad? I for real don’t get it. Are you just pissed off you aren’t legally allowed to own slaves anymore? That’s my theory
It happens all over movies, tv, and printed matter. Instead of thinking up a new character, they shoe horn a race swap into the character and then try and pass it off as new. If I was black i'd be most offended.
STACKER wrote: ↑Mon Jul 08, 2019 12:16 pmAt least if it's a genuinely interesting twist to the character and not this 'diversity for the sake of diversity', these people still are different in ways and this can be a huge advantage but most big corps have their head too high in the attention-cloud they get for doing so when making that apparent. It wouldn't make sense to put them in the same exact story even though there is a quite visible difference, but if they are smart, they can use this to their advantage and turn it around to some degree, but then again, it's easy to fall into a lot of political cubicles if you decide to do so, which does more harm than good. Although, if pushing agenda is their goal, that might be what they desire. But these companies should focus on entertaining folks and not on what is or what isn't politically correctHelladamnleet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 6:14 pmIt's just dumb because there's movies like The Lion King that take place literally Africa Adjacent, Princess and the Toad that literally has a black princess, et cetera. There's ZERO reason they have to encroach upon already established white characters.
There's 6 posts from me, STACKER, and Das Troll attempting to dumb it down enough for you to understand that it's about Disney not coming up with a unique black character, and deciding making an already extremely well established character black was the equivalent. Literally the ONLY person who can't explain their position is you. Link to a post that isn't you telling us we're wrong or racist for wanting Disney to have enough respect for the black community to write a new character.Helladamnleet wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 6:14 pmIt's just dumb because there's movies like The Lion King that take place literally Africa Adjacent, Princess and the Toad that literally has a black princess, et cetera. That's post #7 explaining this. It's starting to look like there's not going to be much more discussion going on in this thread so.....
