Just got a cheap upscaler

Post by Enigma » Tue Jul 04, 2017 4:59 pm

Got this cheap upscaler from Walmart earlier today. I ended up getting it for free because there was zero chance of me spending $35 on something I didn't know for sure would work. Got it home and plugged my Laserdisc player into it and I can't really tell if there's much of a difference other than S-Video has way richer colors (to the point where they spill all over the place). Maybe I'll futz with it and watch a movie later.

So I fucked with the TV settings for a while, and it's actually pretty good image quality. I love how Laserdisc feels like movie theater quality imagery, film grain and all.

I actually ended up canning the converter because it was rendering some movies too dark to watch. Glad I didn't waste money on it.
