idea Firefox causing issues in Linux

So, you have your favorite flavour of Linux installed, and your favorite browser, and are really starting to enjoy the internet, when you start to notice something: your computer is progressively getting slower and slower! A very likely cause is Firefox, still, after 14 years, has a memory leak! The problem now though, is with modern computing, Firefox tends to stay running in the background even when it's not in an attempt to preserve what tabs you have open, so after a while if you're a power user you'll notice significant slowdown.

But it's not all bad! I have a solution! Press ctrl+shift+del, select "everything" from the time frame, uncheck cookies and logged in sites, check the offline-content box, and hit go. I promise your shit will run better.

I can also suggest just doing a clean up once in a while.
Just take a couple hours to sift through everything and then make a new profile and migrate everything you want to there.

Modern websites wiggle little bits of junk into each corner of the Firefox profile folder, and this can accumulate over the years. And generally, making a new profile gives you time to implement new guidelines from the ground up, such as new OPSEC measures.

Also very good advice. Now that you mention it that's closer to what I did last time, and it not only improved Firefox, but also improved my desktop experience because it wasn't just hogging memory.
