Down at the left sidebard in the links, there is IRC chat listed. But the IRC network that it connects to is down. Isn't it a good idea to just pop on a IRC server next to the hosting of this site?
Or did the IRC channel not get any traffic to begin with...?
IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
The IRC didn't get enough traffic so by now my registered IRC nick is gone, and I can't register it while you're idle in it.
I could make a private IRC server but part of the idea is to leave SOMETHING hosted off-site so there's a way to communicate if the site ever goes down.
As far as the web applet, I have no idea why it's broken.

Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
I would suggest a secret forum you can lord over the new users that is only for trusted users.
Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
I don't know. Spite? It doesn't matter to be honest. We don't have enough members for people to care.
Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
Yeah, once we get more members I could maybe do, like, a VIP section.

Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
This place is it's own oldfag VIP section, but a 'user-only' page would be neat for that. Or like board where only X-day old accounts can see and post. Could keep the bots out.
Re: IRC Down? (slashnet.org)
The only thing that will keep bots out is closing reg or making it administrator approval, neither of which are worth doing. I can ban the 3-5 bots a week that roll through here.
