The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
CNN is either so shitty that they can't tell when a previous sentence contradicts the next or they think you're too stupid to get it. They're literally saying that getting the vaccine can cause the virus to mutate, then in the next sentence they say to get the vaccine. No wonder people are so worried about getting it.
Re: The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
Of course the vaccine can help the virus mutate. It'll have to mutate to more easily infect vaccinated individuals. That's basic fucking science lmao.
Herd immunity through mass vaccination would help, too. Obviously it would. We've literally eradicated diseases entirely, simply through vaccines. Polio? Smallpox?
If you passed highschool, you should know these things.

I pretty much knew this would happen.
As for the smallpox vaccine: There was a lot more to it than that. The smallpox vaccine was so powerful that it passed down through generations.

Right, but it's still solid proof that vaccines can help. Passing through generations just means you only have to really do one or two waves of shots, whereas with more short lived vaccines you'd just vaccinate each generation. Like kids getting tetanus shots before school.
This is not at all surprising. We knew it'd mutate, as any virus/flu/whatever does. We know that "immunity" is just an evolutionary barrier - we're breeding super bacteria with all our anti-bacteria soap and shit. Same thing with vaccines for stuff like the flu, or covid. They evolve, and a vaccine is just evolutional pressure.

When you watch the news, listen to the language they use. Remember they used to have a running 24/7 ticker on CNN with covid deaths? Now when they talk about covid its infections or hospitalizations. Who gives a shit about that if people aren't dying? Everyone knew that we weren't going to get the rate of infection to zero. The best and most realistic bet would be to get it to where it's just an annoyance, like a seasonal flu. I think the media, both right and left, are so addicted to ambulance chasing that they will fight tooth and nail to not give good news.

That's an even worse example because you have to get a tetanus shot every 10 years. It's one of the few that require life long boosters.Kheron wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 5:49 pmRight, but it's still solid proof that vaccines can help. Let's not forget too that polio and small pox are also extremely deadly illnesses where as covid has a lower mortality rate than the flu.
It always was no more than an annoyance like the flu. It's not even as deadly, and the some demographic of people who would have died from the flu are the ones that were at risk with Covid.Das Troll wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 6:54 pmWhen you watch the news, listen to the language they use. Also, keep in mind that about 1 in 10 covid deaths were actually covid related. Every "confirmed" death in Goodhue County wound up being mundane shit like suicide, and the lady being 98 with pneumonia.

Re: The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
My point is they're not taking the win because they love the control. You're literally getting different answers from the president, his press secretary, and the CDC. There's no consistent message. The delta variant is supposed to be this huge scary thing, but when you look at the 7 day rolling average for deaths, there are less than 300 for the whole country whereas we used to have thousands per day. It's more transmissible and less dangerous than the first round of covid. Fucking awesome I say, that way more people will get it, pass it like a cold or flu, and we will get herd immunity.
Re: The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
The thing about it is though that they don't know. We could have just gotten herd immunity as it was.

Re: The vax doesn't work, so you must get the vax
Excuse me, it was more than 300, it was 362.
