our ssi is gone for are gen i thought tho,, as to why workforce told me to not pay into it, fuck my boss been paying into it for 35 years and they wanted to give him 290ish a week lol,, that would barely cover his auto and boat insurance lol

SSI and SSDI are different things though.


Like, SSI estimates if I retired at 45 and somehow managed to trick them into giving it to me I'd only make like $1200 a month, but if I held on until 65 I'd make $2400

All I can say is good luck. I mean, the plus side would be you'd also qualify for section 8, food stamps, and medical assistance right away if you don't already, which would make whatever meager sum actually livable.

I'm disabled. Damage to the spine. I have severe chronic pain that often makes me consider ending my life.

It's not great. My personality has changed for the worse. My social circle is nonexistent.

I can't walk very far. I can't even carry groceries home.

I mostly stay on the computer and smoke weed for pain. I listen to a lot of music. Spotify said about 154 days-worth last year of constant streaming. I'm trying to not develop a prescription codeine habit.

My income has been reduced significantly from upper middle class to disability rates. I can manage but it's frustrating.

I really wish I could start over again.

All I can say is you only have one body. Try to get better rather than wear yourself away.

Besides weed, have you tried Kratom to treat the pain? I use it recreationally, but it might help with pain too. I've read that people use it to manage pain.

I hear heroin is great for pain management.
