Not this BBS, but the BBS as a whole. I was thinking about migrating to vBulletin, as I often do consider doing, when I realized: how long do I expect vBulletin to continue to be supported? How long can I honestly expect ANY BBS software to be supported? Are BBSes even a thing popular enough to warrant paying for the software for much longer?
It all just seems so niche these days...

Considering everyone is over at reddit, I don't know. I would like to say for a while but I just dont have faith.
Re: What is the future of the BBS?
It's just so up in the air. Surely there's still a desire for it.

There are still technically BBS's run on old C64 software/hardware.
Re: What is the future of the BBS?
I used to run a Totse BBS like 15 years ago (wow time flies) but, as you can imagine, nobody is really that interested in it taking 45 minutes to do basically nothing lol.
