Welcome to 'Crypto'
Welcome to 'Crypto'
DBDK brought up the need for a crypto section, so here we are. I made him the mod in case he's right and a few people do come as a result.

Re: Welcome to 'Crypto'
Lots of people getting crypto Visa cards and going almost-bankless

BTC > cash is pretty easy, there are ATM's in most cities, even smaller ones these days.
The Visa cards are debit/credit cards that let you carry plastic and tap and stuff.
You load an account with crypto and spend it in fiat on the card, usually.
Re: Welcome to 'Crypto'
I like how you cited fiat currency despite BTC not being backed by anything either. In fact, BTC is arguably backed by LESS since there's no government backing.DBDK wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 4:58 amBTC > cash is pretty easy, there are ATM's in most cities, even smaller ones these days.

BTC isn't "backed" by anything, it is just really secure, in transactional terms and also in terms of supply.Helladamnleet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 6:29 amI like how you cited fiat currency despite BTC not being backed by anything either. If you knew how bank treasurers issued new fiat as debt, you would see the main selling point of BTC. New fiat is created every time a bank issues a big loan, they really have barely any money at all actually "backing" it all and have created a fucking MASSIVE debt and liability bubble, worldwide.

despite BTC not being backed by anything
BTC not being back by anything
BTC not being backed
BTC not backed
not backed
not.
You're missing the point. BTC is just as useless as any other currency. It's only worth something because people choose to pay that amount.
