Both, they combined to make something worse. Like your mind expected the sweetness from the cookie but you got the bite from the whisky. Then your mind has to contend with the fact that you're getting whisky bite but it has chunks in it so the texture makes you kinda gag.

It's actually super good. First take a shot of whiskey, then a shot of pickle juice as a chaser.
