I had a Nintendo 3DS that would randomly power off, and seemed to have issues charging, and I was able to fix it by taking it apart and soldering the charging port, then when re-installing the battery I inserted a thin piece of cardboard to apply more pressure against the terminals. Since doing this repair I have gotten at least 30 hours of play without any issue.

Got about another 10 hours or so of play into it, and I would deem the issue completely fixed.
