Gates actually started out as a programmer. From what I remember, he bought DOS for like 10 grand and that started him out on the whole windows empire. Poor bastard that made DOS lost out big. I put him in the same category as the stupid asshole at Xerox who denied the mouse saying that no one would ever need it because no one would ever have a home PC.
