I've always gotten the vibe Bill Gates is just like Steve Jobs and didn't really invent anything, just kinda knew how to market it better.

Gates actually started out as a programmer. From what I remember, he bought DOS for like 10 grand and that started him out on the whole windows empire. Poor bastard that made DOS lost out big. It was actually $75,000, which adjusted for inflation is like $211,297. At least he got something. Xerox didn't get shit because theirs worked vastly different and didn't qualify for a copyright suit.
