Kind of blows. I mean, the physics are fine and all, but there's nobody online. At least not like UT99 (Yes, I know that has 21 {jesus I'm old} years of content), but there were literally like 16 people online earlier.

UT4 was coming along fine, it's playable even though it is still pre-alpha even. Player made content is already a thing. But when fortnite blew up Epic pulled all their staff and put it on that. Development on UT has stalled.

It's certainly playable, the user content just isn't there.


Which seems weird because it came out like 6 years ago.

Yea, there's only a little player content. I think if Epic put more into the game and it grew a bigger fan base that might help?

Yeah, but like I said, I think there was no intention of Unreal 4 being more than a tech demo. I semi recall the big deal being Unreal Engine 4 and how easily games could be built on it.


That's why universities and shit got it first.

That sucks if true. I really want a full UT game again.

Personally it doesn't even matter because the game modes I loved were so far from the base game.

Right? UT4 will never have the same feel as 99 did even for player made stuff like Bunny track. I found a few BT maps but they just... Weren't the same.

Damn, now I want UT99 again. And maybe 04 for the low grav insta gib CTF maps/servers & invasion servers (it was fun building up your character's levels on a server until you're godlike)

UT99 for all intents and purposes is free. The servers are VERY active too, so you could have a good time.

I miss BT, Monster Hunt, and even the custom sniper dm/tdm maps so much. I loved that game, even tho I was a shitty 8yo and wasn't very good lmao

I remember being good enough to end every match with a telefrag which is actually kind of a feat.

Man, GoG had UT99 & 04 for like $2 each. Picked them both up, because having legit, non-pirated copies is always nice, and that is cheap af. I have both the System Shocks as well from when they went on sale for $2 each, too.

GoG fucking rocks, man. They even have Diablo + Hellfire. Considering picking that up. And Warcraft 1 + 2 bundle!
