Ok, "The Anarchists CookBook" is a terrible source of infomation when making explosives or anything that it describes with instructions.

I have many friends who told me about this awesome book they've discovered with awesome detailed instructions that are extremely accurate. Once I found out that they were talking about "The Anarchists CookBook" I immediately told them the truth about it, that just about everything in that book is inaccurate and more dangerous than it is supposed to be.

Even the author of this novel, William Powell (also known as "The Jolly Roger" sent a letter to the publishers of the book to ask that they take the book off the market because of its dangerous material.

I looked in one of the online versions of "The Anarchists CookBook" and saw their recipie for Black Powder, which told the user to "soak the formula in methelated spirits and dry over a fire. That could very very very easily ignite and blow the hell outta you.

The online versions of "The Anarchists CookBook" are not actually the original "Anarchists CookBook", but a whole set of copies known as "Anarchists CookBook II" and III and all so on and so on. These Anarchist copies are not made by William Powell. He states that he has no contact with these copycats.

The Anarchist copies are usually entierly made up, none of the formulas or contraptions are tested. I read one where it contained instructions to start farming drugs with peanuts, and another where you can supposedly contruct a nuclear bomb with an electric mouse trap! But I have heard from many people that these Anarchist copies are just made by some bored teenager who has too much spare time and a vivid imagination.

The original "The Anarchists CookBook" on the other hand actually contained references from the U.S. military bomb manual and so forth, but even with this, it is still inaccurate. There are many articles which list the many inaccuracys in the "CookBook", but many still think it is the best book to hit the earth, and are undaunted by its dangerousness.

Some think the book is and accurate portrait of the political ongoings at the time, and buy the book for that sake. Personally I am going to purchase the book (and stop borrowing it from other people) just because of the fact that it is an extremely famous book.

William Powell could not get the book off the market because when he originally signed to the company, they tool rights to the book. At the tiime he thought nothing of it, but as he grew older, got married and had children he realised that the book was a dangerous book and asked them to cease the publication. The company refused on the grounds that it was a very popular book and that they had the rights and could do what ever they wanted with it.

Later that company went bankrupt and sold the rights to another company. William Powell has also asked them to cease publication, but I think that they refused like the last company.

I do not think that this book should be taken off the market, but I do think that the people should be warned. I have found TOTSE a much more informative source of infomation.
