When I was in fifth grade, my friend and I set up a tripwire landmine to be set off by opening a door in a backalley.
It was a simple device. It was a small metal container threaded on both ends filled with black powder, with a rocket motor fuse as as an ignitor. The black powder was sourced from model rockets.
The mechanism was string and scissors. When someone opened the door, the string would be pulled taught, closing the scissors and completing a circuit involving a battery and metal wiring to the black powder explosive.
Anyways we set it up.
Never heard anything about it. Never know if it went off or failed. We had tried our design successfully before but we were like ten years old lol.
