I'm not sure what made me look up a video tutorial, but I'm glad I did because it showed me basically the exact thing I was doing wrong. Right away I went from stumbling through the intro (that's as far as my extremely novice skill has gotten me) into playing something that sounds almost Lindsey Buckingham.

Wish I would have gotten into playing the guitar when I was younger, don't really have the finger dexterity anymore, not after 21 years of kickboxing.

Yeah, I feel that. My hands are often times swollen and painful from working. Every once in a while I'll try to learn a new song, and do a little better than the last time, so I figure in 5 years I'll have one down pat.

One thing about music that someone pointed out and I've noticed ever since is it's rare for a song to contain more than like ~5 chords.
