  • My trip to Las Vegas

Finally got off my ass and decided to take a trip to the city of sin, Las Vegas. Here's my take on it

The flight in wasn't bad, we had a plane that was empty to the point where people were just moving to where they wanted to move. Getting off the plane was a bit of a culture shock considering you pretty get slot machines right off the bat. Fair enough, just move on to your Uber or Lyft driver, the Horseshoe is only 2 miles away. I figured it wouldn't be that expensive, boy was I wrong. That was the start of a long line of WTF moments when it came to how expensive shit was in Vegas. The real odd part is one bar may have a Miller Light for 15 dollars, but the little CVS on the corner has an entire 12 pack for 15 dollars. If there's one thing I learned while there, never assume prices are competitive. The city never shuts down so you can go get your booze whenever you want and gamble while you drink it.

That's another thing, even being a native to the USA, Vegas is culture shock. Everyone smokes weed everywhere all the time, it's easy and legal to get. It's expensive but it's still easy to get. People are constantly trying to give you something as well. You should never take these things btw. It will be mostly naked women wanting to take pictures with you (which you will find out right after they're taken that you need to pay for them), half naked guys doing the same thing, and people trying to give you naked playing cards with strippers on them. Meanwhile little Timmy and Rebecca are walking right next to all this. Homeless people are also everywhere as well, but they're not really aggressive enough to beg for money, maybe it's too hot? They'll most likely be sleeping in bushes outside of the casinos looking for suckers and taking drugs.

Traffic, holy shit the traffic. Take the worst drivers in the world and combine them all into one place and that's Las Vegas traffic. I realize now why the rideshares were so damn expensive, everyone is crazy. If you're going to be on the strip, get a 4 day or whatever pass to the monorail, it's great for getting at least to a few casinos.

Did I mention the grass hoppers yet? Oh yes the biblical plague of grass hoppers swooped by when I was there. This video is a few years old, but it's exactly like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rfit4H3u1kk . I woke up at 6 or so in the morning with what I thought was rain hitting my window. It was quite nice at first until I realized it had been going for hours and I'm currently in the fucking desert. Turns out there was a big spot light hitting my window and the crickets were flying into the glass making rain noises. It was so bad that you couldn't go outside without having a bunch land on you. The next day there were hundreds of thousands of dead crickets everywhere.

Sadly I did not have a chance to go to the brothel because my friend, I believe, chickened out. I believe he was just looking for a reason to get out of it so he said he felt a cold sore coming on. Very disappointed in the whole situation since a big reason why I went out there was the brothel. I guess it's not all bad, I saved 500 to 1000 dollars. Guess there's always Amsterdam. I did however go to the dispensary and got some gummies. I am not a smoker so when the gummies hit, they came down like a hammer. I just ran back to the hotel and rode it out.

The flight back was miserable though. Some fat old woman sat in the seat next to me with her fat fucking elbows spilling over into my seat. Every 15 minutes she would let out a fart in which I would have to lean further left into my friend. I hate flying sometimes. I got the fuck off that plane ASAP.

Over all it was a good experience. I came away with about 200 bucks and a ton of memories. I'll probably go back in the future, but not any time soon. I think Mardi Gras is next or maybe over seas.

Some day I'm going to go to Vegas and just chill for like a week. At $50/night most places during the week I'd easily be able to afford it.

I want to travel one day. I've been saying the prior sentence for 10 years. But one day, I will.

I'm glad you had a good time.

I said the same thing. The best solution is to just set a date and live up to it. Otherwise you'll always be putting it off.

^ Exactly that. I never used to travel until I started just picking a date a few months out and booking the room.
