Let's talk about trashing/dumpster diving. A ton of good shit can be found in the trash from scrap to valuable information. I'm not going to go into the trashing for data because that's not my point, my point is trashing for tasty goods. When I was a wee lad I used to dumpster dive at the local Radio Shack for things like power strips and cables. The bonus part was it was right next door to a video store that would toss their pornos and I would often nab VHS porn. A few tips when doing a little bit if DD. Remember when it's a business they consider it stealing. Why? If they have X device that would cost XY to send back and repackage and that's more expensive to just throw away, they'll throw it out. If you take it out of the trash they consider that potential income lost and they WILL either call the cops on you or lock the dumpster. If you're good at lock picking this won't stop you, just remember to do some recon for cameras before you try.
Remember to try various places and be safe. Book stores have been known compact or shred their magazines or books so people can't get them.
