Arch linux was a godsend for me. Ubuntu always pissed me off... Debian was always too slow to adopt new packages and Gentoo's need for patience while compiling 400MB worth of apps was way too much...
Arch offers a very fast system, very customisable, easy to use if you don't mind messing around in the command prompt and reading quite a bit on their wiki (which is the best wiki on a linux distro I have ever encountered)... Rolling release too, which is awesome - you don't have to do a fresh install to be completely up to date... just run "pacman -Syu" and you're all good... Pacman is a great package manager too...
I would, however, wait for the newest screenshot of arch (their equivalent of releases) as it will incorporate the newest kernel with ext4 support... unless you don't mind compiling it yourself and turning your ext3 into ext4 manually...
Don't know when that'll be out though...
